Continental launches new CV tyre in India
Continental, leading technology solutions provider and premium tyre manufacturer, has launched its 10.00R20 Hybrid CHA2 (Conti Highway All wheel) tyre for commercial vehicles in the Indian market.
The newly launched all-wheel tyre offers high mileage, re-treadability, and low cut-chip damage. The tyre is designed and developed to suit both goods and people segment on Indian roads.
Describing the product, Claude d’Gama Rose, Head of Tyres Business, Continental India, said, “The 10.00R20 HYBRID CHA2 tyre is developed to withstand high endurance in the most trying road conditions and driving surfaces. The highly durable tyre is designed to ensure minimum stone trapping, and better wet traction, among others.
The Indian CV market is highly receptive to fleet operational efficiency, clocking maximum uptime to secure quick returns. With this given precondition, tyres become a vital part of contributing to overall vehicle performance. And our product complements this prerequisite and achieves significantly lower cost per Km.”
Jens Holtinger is new Head of Volvo’s Global Truck Production Organization
Jens Holtinger has been appointed as head of Volvo´s global truck production organization and member of the Volvo Executive Board. Jens Holtinger, born 1970, began his career at the Volvo Group in 1995. He has extensive international experience and has held many senior positions within production, such as head of production in Ghent, Belgium, Skövde and Tuve, Sweden.

Elektra launches indigenously-developed wheelchair lift
Home-grown company Elektra has introduced a wheelchair lift to make public transport by bus completely inclusive. The ‘Elektra’ step lift is a product specifically designed for city buses. Mounted at the side door of the bus, it occupies the space where the access stairs are located Commenting on the new product, Ashitha Sudhakar, co-founder of, Elektra, said, “Our new lifts have been designed and developed as per AIS153 standards and have been tested by a leading electric bus manufacturer in India. Having received confirmedorders for these lifts from various state transport agencies, we are looking forward to supplying 500 of them in the initial tranche.
